Ms. Schowengerdt,
I just want to express how much I appreciate your work and the ministry of Family Christian Academy. Aaron's first year at FCA was nothing short of awesome! I was concerned that he might lag behind the rest of the FCA fifth grade class, since it was his first year at the school. Instead, he was truly challenged and encouraged by his teacher to excel and his grades soared!
The FCA curriculum was more advanced than he was accustomed to in public school. He was for the first time being asked to memorize significant poetry selections, science and social studies facts, along with about 35 spelling words a week, as well as preparing for tests and completion of daily assignments and regular written book reports. He was learning concepts that were new to him, but he not only survived - he thrived! His grades improved dramatically as he learned just what he was capable of. The icing on the cake was having our Christian worldview reinforced as he studied each subject.
As we near the half-way point of his second year at FCA, we remain so appreciative for the blessings the Lord is providing through you and the work of the FCA faculty and staff. I'm so pleased with his education and the personal, caring manner FCA functions, as evidenced in the school's daily routines and details like its affordable tuition, small class sizes, the new dress code, availability of before and after school care, the emphasis on community service and student safety considerations.
Aaron continues to love his school and looks forward to being at school each day. We continue to uphold the school in our daily prayers and thank you so much for all you do. God bless you!
Sincerely, P. McMilian
